I used my rapid and my AA S410 carbine

Pest control on a grassland research establishment

Arrived on the field at 8:00 this morning. I set up my hide under an huge willow tree with overhanging branches. I put 4 old birds from the freezer out at about 20/30 yards in a sort of horseshoe shape and facing the wind. It didnt take long for the pigeons to start coming in to the decoys. Got a few pics

Nice one, lass!!

I've never had anything to do with NV. How does it compare to a regular scope in daylight?

Cheers.

Thats my Mrs in the pic lol, its her account and I hijack it every now and again to post stuff :icon_redface:

I find it OK in the day, the quarry stands out in the scope and because its digital the light doesnt damage it. But you dont get the resolution (? - clear detailed image) that you get with a normal scope, with the pulsar everything light in colour appears white in the scope (even the white patches on the birds neck) and everything dark appears black.

Thanks for that. I remember the old ex Soviet first gen head gear that found their way over here in the 80's but I've never had anything to do with modern NV scopes.... I hardly ever do any night shooting these days 'cos my shoot's a fair old drive from where I live and I'm old and rubbish these days. The odd times I do I use a good head-torch.

I can relate to you useing your Mrs's stuff from time to time. I used to do the same but that's a different story.... :icon_redface:

Cheers.
