craigyboy 1,274
just been reading an article in a local rag regarding a group of locals that are urging people to register their concerns about the proposed cull of badgers in parts of england and wales as part of a range of measures to control tb in cattle, the back off badgers campaign fronted by the arspca, urges ministers to sanction the use of a vaccination programme for badgers rather than a cull this country is in massive debt an theyre considering vaccinating badgers, jesus christ, think of all the money that will cost, theres an estimated 250,000 adult badgers in the uk,thats a lot of vaccines plus the staff to do it and places to do it and then youve got all those appointment cards to print and pay mr badger the postie to deliver em and dont forget all the missed appointments, you'l have young badgers phoning up every 2 mins "sorry mi mam cant make her appointment today, the royal mail wagon flattened her last neet" ffs this country really PISSES ME OFF...rant over im off to see if theres owt knocking about that i can give a fecking good kick

terrier410 53
It has been estimated that in Britain, around 50,000 badgers meet their deaths through road traffic accidents (RTAs) every year.this is from a badger site so lets not think that they are far and few between cos i personally know they are multiplying above there means they are now becoming a pest again .but hey lets not let true figure get in the way of the truth

Culling is hardly a cheap option either and there is no conclusive proof, despite tests being done that it has any effect on TB rates in cattle. The cheapest option is to cull the infected cattle, they are easy to find after all, and have better control over the movements of cattle around the country.

Just one question if its not been shown to affect TB rates in cattle what would be the point?
