Mr Hunter 30
Bit of advice Tattey.Fit a kill switch as sometimes solenoid stick and motor keeps turning and starter starts to smoke.I built my own also and its happened twice to me so bought a kill switch from local discount car shop.atb MH
hogdog 61
Nice one, looks well made. Fitting a kill switch is good advice also heep an eye on how hit it's getting or you'll melt the motor. I don't do runs longer than about 100m with mine because of the heat isssue...the motors not meant to be used for more than 10 seconds at a time.

stubby 175
unless you have got some weight on the lure, whats to stop the line jumping off the spool and tangling
hogdog 61
unless you have got some weight on the lure, whats to stop the line jumping off the spool and tangling Most people pin the line to the ground using a U shaped piece of metal about a metre from the machine then another one a few metres away from the machine which the line is then run at an angle to so the Dog doesn't run directly towards the machine. By far the best lure is a plastic bag...trust me we've tried everything. Anything heavier will mean the machine runs too slow and will run the risk of burning the motor out. Mr Hunter 30
I use one of them eyed screws fixed to my frame it stops line from bouncing about.I done some 350yard runs with mine and it does get hot but had no other problems with motor. Some days when running my lurcher club i was doing 40-50 runs and only prob was solenoid so always had a spare and a spare battery on hand.I use a scalextric control for my controller and i also ahve a spindle made from an old bike wheel so i never have dogs running towards me i always on an angle.Im only in Billingham mate so if your not too far in durham your more than welcome to pop over and take a peek and give dogs a run on mine
