markvining 18
[11111111.bmp22222.bmp4444.bmp]3333.bmp Hi all, Here are some pics of my new gun hw100 I'm still getting use to it, I thought i would be able to hit any thing with it but i seem to be getting inconsistent shots put a few targets out at the weekend to get a groupings and the group was all over. So i got the hw97k out to compare the same pellets 10 shots again and after five shots all touching the other five was going in the hole. Ive being a bit frustrated with it to be honest is it me or is there some thing wrong also how low can you go on air before it affects consistence? the gun was filled before doing the target practice. olim 28
it may be the way you hold the gun possibly, i've found sometimes during targets, just as i shoot i move a tiny bit and it can have difference in shot placement but i seem to be able to hold it perfectly whilst rabbit shooting. just a thought Quote Link to post
spike25blue 55
Hi Mark is it a MK1 or MK2 As there are a couple of things that could be making it loose air which could be the issue how is the pellet spread when shooting all over the place or to 1 side? Atb Rob Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi Mark buddy, Is that you shooting the paper targets from a bipod mate at 25 metres? If so that seems very strange to me after seeing you shoot a springer buddy to great effects and after owning a HW100KT myself in the past, the rifle just about shoots itself, and from a bipod as I have found out you can put a pellet on pellet easily without really trying at 25 to 35 metres. Are you also using the FX pellets that I gave you or some Air Arms Fields which are the same mate or are you still using the RWS Super Hollow Points that you tried in your HW97K? I tried RWS Super H Points in my HW100KT and it didn’t really like them and put them all over on paper at 25 metres. At 15 to 20 metres though they were ok and would suffice for close rang ratting. My HW100KT loved FX pellets / AA Fields though. If all that I have said above is correct then I may suggest that there may be something wrong with the shot to shot consistency of the rifle some how buddy and it may be worth trying a different pellet first and if that doesn’t work then getting a qualified gunsmith like Adrian Waugh at A and M Custom Gunsmiths to have a look at it buddy. You should be shooting that HW100 like a demon mate as you have a naturally good shooting technique and take into consideration the marksmanship principles well. This was demonstrated on the HL meet where you shot very well. Si Edited August 26, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I use common all garden Superdomes, and they put pellet on pellet at thirty yards, and with in a five pence piece at forty, maybe a change of pellets are in order Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Hi Mark, You could be doing exactly the same as I was when I first started shooting a PCP. My groups were fair to crap to start with after being able to put pellet on pellet with my springer. turns out I was (or at least my brain was) anticipating the recoil and it took a while to get used to not having any recoil. Now my PCP groups are nice and neat but with a springer, they have opened up significantly as I don't practice much with it anymore. Phantom Quote Link to post
garfield 23
hi Mark if you can try putting it in a workmate and firing a few shots at a target this will eliminate any user error if it still fires inconstantly then it needs looking at hope this helps Quote Link to post
