looking to buy a 12 bore semi auto what are a few good ones to go for for about 500 second hand or around that?

Do a search. This question comes up time and time again.

 

In summary you have loads of choice for 500quid. Ranging from something like a Hatsan Escort for 250 upto a Beretta al391. Loads of plus`s and minus`s. Personally, id try and aim for a 391. You may be looking at 600quid minimum for one, but they are awesome and hold their value well. Do a search and see what people have said to other people asking the same question.

2nd hand benelli or 2nd hand winchester absolutely brilliant never jam up very fast and a nice gun to hold some automatics tend to be dead numb heavy things i have a bnelli synthetic mk 1 and i would never chance it

Go to good gun shop,take licens. Tell man you give him plenty busness now you know where is & ask to see all semi from £200-400 , feel gun in shop. If good shop he give you maybe 3 gun to use for weekend. see which you like. take all back, try nother 3 , then buy gun you like& 250 carts, gun case & al you need, get good deal . Go have fun

I have a Benelli M2 which is probably more than you want to pay and is the best semi I've ever had but if you can stretch a few more quid have a look at the Beretta ES 100. It's a brand new model(Benelli inertia action with Beretta barrel). My mate has just got one and it is a brilliant shotgun, retail about £875 but he got his for £740. I've used it and it is on my list if I need another semi.

MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO DO A LOT OF RESEARCH MATE. I PAID £1500 LAST YEAR FOR A NEW XTREMA 2 - SUPPOSED TO BE THE DOGS BOLLOCKS. MY PALS HAVE THEM WITH NO PROBLEMS TO DATE, BUT WITH MINE IVE EXPERIENCED LIGHT "NON CENTRAL" STRIKES ON CARTRIDGE HEADS I.E MISFIRES, ( AS YOU,D EXPECT-USUALLY WHEN A GOOSE/ WIDGEON/PIGEON IS DIRECTLY OVERHEAD!). HAVING LOOKED THIS UP ON THE NET, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHER XTREMA OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS INTERMITTANT PROBLEM STARTED FROM THE MINUTE IT CAME OUT OF THE BOX.BERETTA HAVE OFFERED UP SOME REASONS FOR THIS HAPPENING,NONE OF WHICH FIT THE BILL,IE NOT A CLEANING ISSUE, NOT A FOREND O RING ISSUE.A FEW INTERESTING POSTS FROM OTHER OWNERS RECKON THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE BREECH BOLT ASSEMBLY IN SOME MODELS WHICH SOMEHOW PASSED THE THROUGH THE QUALITY INSPECTION DEPARTMENT.ANYHOW I TRIED STICKING WITH IT, TO BE HONEST INITIALLY ON THE MARSH IN SUB ZERO TEMPERATURES I PUT IT DOWN TO DAMP CARTRIDGES, DESPITE NOT EXPERIENCING THIS ANY OTHER TIME IVE EVER SHOT FROM A YOUNG AGE. I WAS GOING TO STICK IT OUT, UNTIL IT MISFIRED AGAIN THE OTHER WEEK WHEN SHOOTING PIGEONS WID ME PALS. SO I SEEN ME ARSE AND SENT IT BACK TO GMK BERETTAS UK DISTRIBUTOR. THAT WAS OVER A WEEK AGO. IM GETTING A TWITCHY FINGER NOW WITH GOOSE SHOOTING SEASON DAYS AWAY...RANG THEM UP TODAY, LOW AND BEHOLD IT HASNT BEEN LOOKED AT YET AND WONT BE BACK WITH ME BY WEDNESDAY. IM GUTTED,ME OWN DAFT FAULT, I SHOULD HAVE GOT MY ARSE IN TO GEAR SOONER. I MAY BE OLD AND SYNICAL BUT WHEN I PAY £1500 FOR A GUN, AM I ASKING TOO MUCH FOR IT TO GO BANG EVERY TIME I PULL THE TRIGGER. OH DEAR. thanks for the replies i will be doin some research on it i think and would like to try a few, i want it as an all rounder really clays and pigeon really , was looking at the winchester sx3 not seen one yet tho
