PoppyB 22
More like people don't like them because their owners don't have to take any responsibility for what they do once they're let out in the morning. which tells you more about the owner than cat. True, true If people let there dogs out to shit in the neighbors gardens, there would be a few harsh words, but because its a cat they think its ok. When was the last time you seen someone out cleaning up after a cat? Think the videos so shocking because its an old 'lady', if it was a 'hoody' it wouldn't be such a surprise. Cat was in the bin for 12 hours....you wouldn't wish it on a dog Edited August 27, 2010 by PoppyB

Malt 379
I think it's been blown way out of proportion myself. It probably wasn't pleasant for that cat, but a carnivore like a cat can go way longer than 14 hours without feeding/drinking will no ill effect. In all probability, all in done was curled up in the dark and went to sleep..

I see your point regarding the double standards & I'm not condoning what the woman did, but you hear stories in the news about cats travelling thousands of miles locked in removal vans, boots of cars, etc, all presented in a light hearted manner on the various media outlets. IMO the woman shouldn't have done it, but there would be nice to see a bit of perspective shown about the matter. These news companies know exactly what sort of cranks are out there when they release these stories, now the woman had had death threats and requires police protection.
