trapped chile miners

Recommended Posts

I spent a few consecutive days underground caving in Cantabria, North Spain a couple of years ago and it is ok, but 4 months is a bit extreme! Their eyesight will be poor when they surface as they will not have focussed properly for such a long time in white light. I feel for the guys stuck, and hope they get out ok

what were they mining chiles for...they grow better in a greenhouse :whistling:

lol

joking aside though must be a nightmare for them.as for overtime dont bet on it dont think chile is a wealthy country,at least if that happened here there be a good claim waiting for them when they got out.Maybe im wrong but there be an outcry if it happened here and they were told it would be xmas before they got out.im guessing they will need to open up a new shaft to get them out in case of collapse if they go through the current one.dont envy them and hope they all get out safe.

I feel phsiycally sick watching it as a lot like me who have worked in the bowels of the earth will have an inclination of how it must be i only witnessed one realy bad roof fall in wich i mate miraculously avoided getting killed an incident that happend 26 years ago but i can still remember as if it was yesterday and would be a liar if i said i never had nighmares about it after.I am not religiouse but i hope and prey them chilean miners come through it.

I couldn't cope for a couple of hours, never mind for months :icon_eek:

May God keep them, I hope they all get out alive.

im same as that, although i would likely have gone insane and killed everyone else stuck down there with me if i was stuck there for more than a couple of months :gunsmilie:

Also think about the sanitation their was no flushing toilets in the coal mine i worked at or toilets of any kind bar a chemical toilet in the pit bottom and all the coal faces were miles from the pit bottom.
