I know this will be contentious but I would go for a Ruger 10/22 especially if your going lamping for rabits.

 

I bought a CZ 453 with a set trigger and swapped it for a 10/22 its a brilliant bit of kit.

old cz bruno chopped it down to `14 inches. trigger kit and job done

for get about any ruger 10/22 there shite had one did the same thing every time when your ready to pull the trigger the only sound you here was click awwwwwwwwwwwww shite like ive said

cz brno would be your best bet but thats me and what ever you do dont get the barrel chopped down atb chris
