saxonmaster 74
picked up some new kits saturday one gill and her brother hob but the hob is half the size of the gill. i got them off a good friend who i ferret with so i know he didnt have to bring it on himself or have any problems with it. in fact i fed them today and he was the one who took charge over the food but the size difference is massive and was just woundering if this is common or not to have the hob so small compared to its sisters. ive kept them seperate from my other ferrets until he puts some size on just in case he cant defend himself. im not bothered if he turns out to be just be a small hob or not but would just like to know if its unusual or not because like i have already said he is tiny. his dad is a very big dog and the mother is a normal size for a gill. thanks in advance for any replys cheers. Kay 3,709
Theres a possibility that if the jill was induced more than once by the hob say a week apart then there could be a weeks difference in growth hence the size difference Quote Link to post
8shot 192
could just be the runt of the litter Quote Link to post
The one 8,512
I brought in 5 kits this year from differnt folk and for nine week old kits im surprised how small they where so i think maybe its just this years kits are going to be small ,but a few weeks of good grub and im happier with them . Bradford Lad 74
Hi mate, I was in the same position as you, i had a small hob compared to the jill, but now the hob has overtaken her and is turning into a very nice size. Give it a few weeks and you'l see him shoot up in size BL Quote Link to post
