You see the bit in that video you posted up, where that old bloke was talking about Arkan's men raping, gouging out eyes and cutting unborn babies out of pregnant women. Well a pal of mine told me a good few year ago about a video where some unit of what were either Serbian soldiers or paramilitaries were having bets (he didn't know what for at the time as he was watching it) but they were putting money down on whether the baby in the heavily pregnant women was a boy or a girl, a soldier approached the woman cut her open and pulled the unborn baby out of her to check the sex of it .

 

F*cking awful! He said it was the most disgusting disturbing thing he had ever seen.

 

It's just insane, how depraved war can make some people.

Yeah, I agree with you, the Croats done terrible things, It wasn't long before that Croatia murdered 100's of 1000's of Serbs during the second world war as well.

 

I pretty much sympathise with the Serbs, especially those in Kosovo and Bosnia. Innocent civilian Serbs were being killed by Muslims in their own villages before the war(s) kicked off. Gangs of them were kidnapping Serbs as they were going to work, raping Serbian women and cutting peoples throats.

 

I know that the sorts of things that were done to the Muslims in places like Srebrenica were terrible and no one should have to suffer the way those poor people did, but many Serb's had too put up with a lot of savagery too! The Serbian side of the story is rarely told.

 

I also believe that it was mainly rogue outfits bent on revenge for the horrors they had endured that were committing most of the atrocities (Slaying civilians), not so much the actually Serbian army under Milosevic. The prosecution at the Hague had no evidence that Slobo the Yobo was guilty of ordering any ethnic cleansing and such like, they were struggling to pin any of the heavy stuff on him before he died as I understand it.

 

The troubles in the Balkans are just another example of how multiculturalism doesn't work for me. And I think it should serve as a warning to everyone that forcing people together from different cultures for so long has and can eventually end up going really really bad, I hope that it never happens here .

as for the west getting involved,had f**k all to do with helping the people of the balkans or stopping ethnic cleansing,as thy have been murdering tens of thousands in rwanda for years and we do f**k all about it.we got involved cause we couldnt have that going on in europe to close to home for their comfort

Arkan was a criminal, and a killer! He shot police men, was involved in organized crime throughout Europe and murdered people before the war. From what I can gather he really didn't give a sh!t. He died in a way you'd expect a man like him to die. The way he carried on it was inevitable.

 

Yeah the Serb Army in Serbia were well armed but the minority Serbs in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo they were the Serbs that were taking the stick to start with, and they needed help. The Serbs had historical claims and such like in Kosovo Bosnia and Croatia, which is where a lot of the confusion over territory and all that was. I don't think they just wanted to wipe all the others out of the Balkans so they could have it to themselves. Look at what happened in Slovenia, there wasn't really any serious trouble when they declared their independence from Yugoslavia because the Serb's had no real claims to anything in that country, there wasn't really a sizeable Serb community there, so apart from a Helicopter getting shot down, and a few shots being let off, they more or less went their separate ways and that was that.
