garfield 23
jsr scopes as the one in your link are good value scopes but beware you WILL have to shim the back mount it seems a fact of life for 6-24x50 scopes or else you run out of elevation windage when setting up you scope Quote Link to post
greyhound1 0
what does shim the back mean? Quote Link to post
farmboy99 1
nikko niteater mate pick up a 56 for that money good scopes or a jap tasco an old one you'd get one for about £50 ish much better than the newer chinese shit being pumped out in my opinion Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
what does shim the back mean? when the rear mounts on the scope require shimming (lifting) albeit a fraction, to raise the rear of the scope....to allow the scope to be zeroed without running out of adjustment on the scope turrets. its simply a piece of very thin material......like old camera film, between the scope and the mount. cheers sean Quote Link to post

markha 99
ZINI, Eh up bud, see you have a new 'forget-me-not' picture Nice one, is that a going away present then? As you would expect from an ex-squaddy I have allready saved your girls picture to 'my pics' then photo-shop it on to a naked body then forwarded it to all my mates in the sand pit, with a mesage that its Zini's missus Take care. aaronpigeonplucker 32
you cant go wrong with a hawke scope. within your budget you can get a variable power scope with parallex adjustment and even illuminated reticle. take your pic as there are plenty of great scopes here: www.hawkeoptics.com Quote Link to post
markha 99
Sorry I hijacked with my comments for Zini, Right, I have been using a Hawke scope for a while now and I like it just fine, great clear optics for the price. However, I think if were to change scope, personally I would go for a non-parralax adjustable, variable power, that I can just zoom in and out and not have to faff around with focusing all the time as I use a laser range finder and dont need to use the scope for parralax rangefinding now, So for me the next scope will be a fixed objective variable zoom and then just use a mildot reticle for hold over/under, job done.
