Been there for a week myself many years ago, stayed in some cabins on the shore of the loch, was the place called Portsonachan house or similar ??, long while ago now. Over to the tight lines pub for a meal and a "dram" or two :icon_redface: , that top shelf nearly killed me, first place I ever saw whisky called "pigs nose" and "sheep dip". Lovely area, superb locals, and bloody big fish!!, apparently some yobs from Glasgow had been up a week or so before we went up and had slashed the nets in the fishfarm that is / was there, plenty of fish about then. Anyone who goes up there wont be dissapointed, I certainly wasn't.

Eye, i was on the loch at the time of the slashing!! 100 000'S of fish piled into the loch, and the pike grew big!!!

Be aware tho people, there are miles and miles of dead water.... And it also depends on what time of the year you are on the loch.. I have done many guided trips on here(pike), and put some good fish in the boat as well as quite a few perasonnal bests. Be aware and be prepared to blank....

Want the best places and best times of year to fish, give me a pm...

I have a framed picture on my wall at home of the loch taken from the car from the Dalmally end, on the way back to the cabins, The sky was as angry as I had ever seen it, the heavens were about to open but there was good enough light to take a picture, it was "brooding", and then one hell of a storm broke out, by then I was back at HQ, looking from the inside out. We were trawling with Rapala's, and toby type lures, didn't catch tons, but caught enough, and a few big buggers, see that castle mate, but that pic is spot on. I was a single man then with a few quid in the bank, . Godd fishing if you venture up there. If the fish dont get you the scenery and locals will.

Regards
