A GOOD MORNING OUT.

We arrived at the crack of dawn and scaned with bins the area, picking out what warrens would be good to start with.

The first bury produces 1.

On to the second bury and after a 20 miniute waight, dug to another, 2 ft down and got my polecat hob out.

My mate had his jills aswell and we took it in turns which ones to work.

We split up for a bit and i got 2 from a bury and my mate got another 2 from another. :thumbs-up:

Great start. Had a break then continued.

On the way to a bury, we came across, what is ment to be a ancient old warren from the roman times or somet  :11: Took a pic of it, its below. :)

As the day progressed, the digs got more frequent , had 4 in all  :11: Good excersie i say. ;)

Finished at 2pm, had to get back to the wife, she wanted to go shoping in Lidals. :icon_eek::no: :11:

Finished off with 10 nice bunnys and watched a fox in the distance hunting rabbits, a nice way to cap it off. :good:

Pics below.

Thanks Hob & Jill,

As regards the Mk 3, it seems to vary, according the soil texture. We found today that, in sandy soil, it gives a near anough true reading and rocky soil, its a wee bit off.

On clay heavy soil, it sometimes reads 4ft, when its about 2 ft, but, we had the probe with us, so found out where the tunnels were and took it steady and all was fine. ;)

I must say, it was dead on over the ferret each time.

So, to sum it up, prehaps i was a bit hasty in saying i was going to send it back, as if you get use to it, its a top bit of kit. :thumbs-up:

It saved a lot of time today, otherwise, i would not of got the bag i had. :)
