pegandgun 52
Go for the Sako Finnfire mate.I bought one and they are really nice. They have a floating barrel and alovely action, smooth, quiet and quick.Dont go for semi autos, they are noisy, jam quite alot and you tend to use alot more bullets on stupid shots What ever you choose good luck mate....... Oly 12
I don't care what anybody says, Anschutz make the most accurate rifles...if they consistantly take all the medals at the olympics etc why buy anything else. All you have to do is look at the magazines, their nearest competitor (probably Sako) use cheap plastic mags, anschutz still use rugged quality metal mags (at half the price too!). If your anywhere in the North TJ McAvoys in Standish were the cheapest in the country for mine. I had quotes from £850 and ended up buying it from McAvoys for £460!! Heard lots of other recommendations from them too. Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
Everyone is intitled to there opinion Oly but i aint shooting in the olympics ime shooting rabbits in the nut up to -100yds and my finnfire does that far better than me.Its all a matter of what you like really and i like the finnfire dude, cheers P.S, i do care what other people say and i respect your and everyones opinions and i know that Anschuts are a quality rifle... Guest Deerstalker
I would like to add that the real money should go on your scope as it is with out doubt the most important part. So make sure you have top quality mounts and scope and spend whats left on a good rifle. I would say a sako would be about the best hunting rifle out of the box. Its about opinions and for what its worth that mine. Quote Link to post

Sorry, when I said "I don't care what anybody says" it was only in use as a tern of phase...not that I didn't value others opinions. I agree if you are less accurate than your rifle's capabilities why bother spending more money? However, quality does come into it and I would argue that an Anschutz barrel will take a lot more rounds than a Sako's in it's lifetime and hence you would ultimately get better value for money. PS: - do you think I'm opening a huge can of worms here!?!?! I would like to add that the real money should go on your scope as it is with out doubt the most important part. Yep... i'm with you guys on the scope :thumbs-up: A CZ with a decent scope on it would probably set you back £500 for the lot and as P&G says... there ain't much you can do wrong up to 100yrds on a coney. Horses for courses at the end of the day... if you have the cash why not... you can get a lot of .22 rimfire for £500... have a look on www.guntrader.co.uk to see what i mean! :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
