dave1372 83
Headed out last night with the 6.5x55 which I hadn't yet christened with its first kill. Sods law that just as we got it zeroed in at 100 yards it started chucking it down with rain again :wallbash: . We drove round to one of the usual spots and spotted two foxes up on the hill which ran like anything as soon as they were lamped. We knew where they were headed and tried to cut them off as they headed over to the moor but we didn't make it in time and all we saw were there eyes occasionally in the long grass. By this time it was absolutely belting it down so we were going to call it a night and started to head back up the road. After being in the car ten minutes the rain eased up so we headed on by the chicken farm and up to the sheds which seems to be a positive fox magnet. I soon spotted a set of eyes on the opposite side of the fenceline tucked into the long grass and after Jimmy did a bit of calling it jumped the fence a came out into the open yards away and I let the 6.5 do the rest ! After that we did spot a couple more foxes but what with the rain and not being able to get safe shots they will hopefully be about tonight or tomorrow though ! Quote Link to post
