Im just going out to check the rifles before i go lamping tonight how many folk check there air rifles are spot each time before going lamping ????

I check them in my garden before every time i go out. Only takes 5 mins and reduces the chances of wounding or missing. I carry a few laminated targets to stick onto trees in my pocket incase i forget, or think i may have knocked it off zero while hunting

I usually do mine as soon as I arrive on permission.

Reason being my turrets are finger adjustable and dont lock down so it can be knocked out as I bring it out of the slip.only ever altered one time and that was my fault

Same here as it only takes the slightest knock while on your way to your permission to knock the scopes off zero. I dont always take targets to check my zero, I sometimesuse a knot in a fence post or tree

Every time I go out, before I fire at anything living, I fire a group of three to check my zero. Takes a few seconds and is the difference between humane kills and possibly wounding an animal.

same here, it puts my brain into hunting mode if i shoot a mags worth first, and of course it makes sure the guns pointing in the right direction...

The only times that i havent checked my zero straight away on a hunt and ive missed vermin, later to find the rifle needs re zeroing due to getting knocked in the car etc.

 

I always try to check my zero but sadly sometimes get too excited and forget

iv dropd my gun on its scoped and it didnt change but i check when i arive
