We always insured our two Nuttal terriers, they worked very regulary and had a couple of bad injuries. The treatment of one in particular cost thousands of pounds. I think the excess we had to pay was £60. Our Lurchers are fully insured too and I've found it to be well worth it over the years. For each dog I pay £13pcm and that covers them fully. Hope this helps...

i'm not on about when a dog gets knocked about a bit on a dig i'm talking about if a dog needed some expesive veterinary treatment. good dogs are hard to come by . you think the time and money you spend on a good dog. where do you draw the line are you gonna let a good bitch die if she needs a c section. or a dog suffer with a bust up leg. was just asking to see if anyone did insure thier working terriers.looks like most don't.

Why dont ye find yourselves proper vets,That will give you an honest answer of how much itll cost if you go down the road of trying to give it a few extra months of life!

Farm vets, family vets that have been used for years, that only have the animals welfare at hart.

Not them money grabbing b*****d of pet clinics with 4 or 5 vets employed. You go into them with your dog and end getting a lecture about your dogs health. They make me sick.

I believe it depends more on You, your dog and your hunting, if you don't get out that often and your terrier bolts more often than not, then I'd say no. Everybody is different... only you know whether it would be worth it or not. I've spent over $1000.00 on a single dog in vetting on one incident alone, but that was the exception rather than the rule. Most times TLC and the right meds stocked up and stored right gets you through. Jmo...

Finding a "good" vet is like finding gold, most are in it simply because they chose that profession as a career. Again, jmo. ;)
