BenBhoy 4,706
hey fellas. i just posted a new topic then saw this one, d'oh!! my missus loves staffs so she bent my arm and we getting one but from a resuce centre, as they full of them for no fault of their own. now this dogs will be coming here as a pet first and foremost, but i go on many a mooch with other working dogs (terrier and lurchers) so staff will be coming along and will see if he/she is up to anything work wise. like i said im no bothered if it dont as it's a pet for her really, but what can i expect from it if it does turn out to enjoy a bit of work? ta Quote Link to post
liamdelaney 2,587
I don't understand in people asking about working staffs, what would you want a staff to do a job that plenty other breeds were bred for? Well if you dont understand its one good reason not to tell you. Quote Link to post

bunnys 1,228
staffs the right type do and can be hunting partners its up to the individual what they choose to hunt some people expect a dog to fill different roles ie family dog buddy what ever but just let me tell ya this i have owned 5 laguna whippets bred out of sooty sam and not one of them could move as quick over 25 ta 30 yds as our staff bitch of course she was 19 ths and yes explosive over short distances rats rabs were all ways heres the whipps never got alook in if she was out now of course htis does not mean she was faster top end but like i say quicker yes its always wise to have the nowledge first hand gained through working the breeds in the fields woods etc before making rash coments when its obvious they have none with the said breed hope this helps and yes ya can pick a good staff at the local pounds Quote Link to post
