Water Badger 26
fence hopper is right. it ain't all about the bull, its all about finding the balance.....an finding a dogs calling Hi, Never seen the need to introduce Bull blood to the strain of a lurcher, although there is not a true lurcher ,I like to think the Collie cross is the true ( LURCHER )ie, all rounder day and night. If you want to add such things to a lurcher you just attract attention ie, (DEVIL DOGS) As I think you would agree, this is seen more and more in every day papers.!! Again my opinion. Christ !!!!! (excuse the phrase) I was out a walk the other day (Also with a few others from the site) and saw some youngsters out with there TYSON'S and REX'S ,(bad boy dogs) and so on, there dogs were chasing cows!!! Now I understand all Bull men if not most dog men would hang there head in shame if this had to happen to them !!!!!!!! But again it seams to be a status thing for youngsters any way, if the dog looks like a machine it acts like a machine!!!! Yes true without training and proper entering as I'm sure you will agree it will be stone wall daft ,maybe bite a wean!!!!(Who know it's good to speculate) But the moto seams to be :- (Get the Bull breed, f**k the training ,entering and so on ,just get the dog and it will know it's job cause its a Bull cross) Come on now !!! When I asked "why are you allowing this to happen your just going to bring attention to yourselves if not more " An even younger lad stepped up and said "What you on about? I Can't wait till my dogs up so it can do it to " Now don't go down the road they don't feel pain, as all things feel pain to some extent , f**k if the antis had there way fishing would be banned!! But you get my drift.... It seams to be more and more of a status thing more than a capability thing to have the Bull blood introduced to a lurcher . Not for me , though just my opinion as most working lurchers I have seen that are good at there job have never needed this hyped up cross. Again just my opinion and general observation !!! Admittedly of youngsters mostly but were are they getting there idols from or there ideas???? Hope I'm not offending any one . atb SS You arent offending me you are simpley being a responaable dog owner there is not a lot more wrong with this these people than the lack of sound guidence (beside thire love of base ball caps joking aside) we all need guidence but we have to admit we require it rather than stroleing aroun farmers fields with the bad boy limp if you have the time try to educate these guys for the good of all of us ! Casso 1,261
Whats the least %of bull you have seen in a good working bull x that gives 100/10% on the job:whistling:day in day out . And is single handed on its quary no romancing just the truth:hmm: .....ALB X38 If you could let the litters run on , i have not doubt, that 1/8 or as far as1/16 will carry the working gene, keeping the best dog pup on each litter , putting him back to a good bitch, its not practical nowadays but thats how they used to it , in times gone by,, Quote Link to post
x38 179
i like to consider myself as a seasoned hunter and i was only asking about the percentage of bull in the dog because when the chips are down the dog needs somethink to call on i do belive you get good x without bull in but thats not what the thread said and we have all got storys to tell about young lads with chav staffs x this is why you benifit from other peoples mistakes and guidence i hope my son who is growing up around bull x and rabiting dogs and hope learns to respect his quarry no affence taken ALB X38. Why not stop wanking over dogs your to ignorant to accept and start topics over the curs you have in your kennels that spend 360 days of the year in their kennel, the other 5 they get to be dragged round shows. No two bulls are the same, nor any two people. My view of "graft" will vary greatly from others, and i would expect differnt types of "graft" from differnt types/breds of dogs. Quote Link to post
