phantomflanflinger 24
in my coaching days the England set up at palace promoted a similar regime combined with fartlek running etc the marine cor USA have used this method for years to test the fitness of their grunts, the all round fitness gained by this is second to none a good long warm up and warm down is a must followed by extensive stretching ,

jackinbox99 41
Depends what it involved. When i was seriously training, id do heavy weights 4 times a week and jogging 3 times a week. Takes a while to get into it, but any form of strenous exercise for at least 8 weeks will show you results!
gnasher16 30,291
LIke any physical training it depends what your trying to achieve.....heavy weights 4 times a week is no good for size/strength gains same as quick sprints wont build endurance......training is only 50%,diet and rest are equally important....too many people these days go to the gym then for a curry and beer on the way home !
