lamp not holding charge

Recommended Posts

Ive got a DiaMex 12v 18AH battery attached to the end of my Striker.....Just got it out for after the summer, gave it a day and half on charge, went out last night (drove 15 mile) only to have it 'dim out' on me after about 3 runs!!!!....

I'm not that technically minded and wondered if anyone knows if this battery has had it..........or whether there is anything I can do to fix it?????........... don't really ant to have fork-out for a new one unless Im really forced to!!!

I have used it regularly over the last 2 seasons, and it used to do 2-3 hours easily before!

Thanks

The charger could be f****d?? Try and borrow a new charger 2 see whether that helps. Saying that if the battery's being flat all summer that would seriously nacker it up and would not hold much of a charge after that??? hope you get it back working! atb Rob

was it totaly flat when you charged it?????? with normal batteries its best to charge them from totaly flat..... if you done that then try like the post said and try a diffrent charger  other than that get a new batterie £25  or get a lithium if ya can afford one

it fcuked mate you have let the menory go on it ..should keep it toped up in the summer months..

batteries do not have memories you numpty :tongue2:

try totaly discharging your battery , by wiring a low wattage bulb to it , car sidelight or indicator bulb would do . then try charging it with a good quality slow charging charger for a good 16-20 hours . then see how you get on .. worked for me

a battery does not have a memory ... it will start acting LIKE it as a memory if you never discharge it .. by this i mean if you constantly charge a battery from half full it will only take a half charge all the time unless you completly discharge it ...

you CAN NOT ruin a batteries memory cause there is no such thing ..
