nice looking lean fish, does that say 23lb in the left hand corner ? poacher thats a good fish, did you weigh it pal, from the pic it couldnt of been too far from hitting the 20 mark could it ? , love abit of all kinds of fishing but catching good pike takes some beating, atb

It weighed in at 17lb 12 oz on my mates digital scales and was caught towards the end of october were if i had caught it in febuary it might have gone over the 20 barrier.It was a fat fish though but was still tempted by a float fished fresh sprat.atb dell

I caught it last off fishing the margins of a small river and knew it were a decent fish [bANNED TEXT] it started to run then again river pike always seem to put up a better scrap than those i have caught in ponds and canals.atb dell

Another one just over the 17lb barrier one of two fish i caught the same day just before the end of the river season in march the year afore last both fish had spawned out and were still in good condition but they may have touched the 20 barrier if i had caught them a month earlier.

i do a bit of loch fishing in scotland for trout never fished for pike,but you certainly got me intrigued in trying.guy along the road from me does.think ill ask if i can tag along one day.

Go for it mate you wont regret it i enjoy catching small jacks as well as a few of the bigger ones i have caught and despite wat some might say their not the hardest of fish to catch the hardest part is finding were they are as certain times of the year they wont be far from the shoals of food fish.atb dell
