Lewdan 17
Hi Guys, up untill about 8 years ago all my hunting was with an air rifle, then i got into rimfire and centrefire i sold all my air rifle gear to fund my new ones. Even tho i really enjoy my foxing & rabbiting i am missing the buzz of getting close to your quarry to take an air rifle shot, and the field craft needed to do it, i also miss the close contact rat shooting in barns or out bulidings ect, Any way thinking of getting myself a little air gun just for close rabbits and rats, budget is very limited at the moment so prob be second hand any suggestions what will do the job, is the co2 rabbit stopper any good Thanks all LD PS My past air rifles have included HW80 & Theoben Rapid 7 sorry i sold them Quote Link to post

The Co2 could work out expensive with the cartridges. Youd proberbly be better off looking out for a nice second user HW springer. Youv'e had one before so know their quality and performance Keep an eye out in the for sale section buddy. Bill. Quote Link to post

Now i know they are good rifles but last time i had a shot with it ( about a year ago ) it seemed very rough when cocking and quite hard recoil, the rifle is used very little any tips on how i can tune it to make it a little more user friendly im sure i can borrow it --long term Thanks again LD Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I've only used a rammer once and I loved it The recoil was short and very fast, straight back, not back and up. As for the cocking, that will eventually smooth itself out, or you could try polishing the sears that may help. But the recoil is very different to s apringer, so much faster, making it easier to achieve better accuracy. If you've been using centre fire, you will know what I'm talking about. Long term Loan eh, thats my kinda language Phantom Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
My take on this is that it depends on your budget. Id go for a PCP if you can. May seem out of your budget, but you have to factor in that its like having money in the bank, as if you decide to sell it in a years time, you`ll get your money back (if you buy the right gun). I bought a air arms s410k about 18months back and judging by the for sale prices now, id get back exactly what I paid for it. So, it will have only cost me a service in that time and thats it. Depends if you have the money avaliable to do that. But, for me, having used springers and PCP`s, id go for the PCP everytime. Quote Link to post
dillan 19
PCP multishot everytime for me, you wont look back, see if you can get a second hand bsa ultra t10, small, compact and fits like a glove, to me anyway, wouldnt change it for the world.
