olim 28
Olim, this isn't a debate about our shooting, what basc do or do not do for shooters; its simply a question about general insurance cover for airgunners. The reason for my remarks are as follows: Ted asked which insurance we use and any recomendations. People then started giving their answers which is good. I gave my answer which is a simple cheaper alternative that at the time and given my financial circumstances was ideal for me. Then along comes someone to slag off a company like a total :wankerzo4:. Ted did not ask for those kind of comments did he? Whats more; I wonder if Sureshot11 has actually dealt with BASA and has he actually had an insurance policy with them? If not then he would do well to keep libelous remarks such as that to himself I won't slag of basc because I have not dealt with them. I have heard that they can be just as slow as BASA from someone, but that is hearsay and as I have no experiance of it I wont state it as fact. So rather than beginning a slanging match can we stick to what has been asked? Makes sense yes? Phantom Then along comes someone to slag off a company like a total :wankerzo4:. was that directed at me? so saying that basc is a waste of money isnt slagging it off. what basc do for shooters is relevant information for someone thinking about joining. your the one that would have started this as a slagging match. It doesnt effect me if sureshot decides to go with either company so why would i not just say my opinion. I have no intrest in having an arguement and dont think the way you responded was neccesary. before i post next time i will check with you what i should say. rushty 1
BASC for me, wouldnt wast my money on the BASA slow and crap service Well if you have money to spend and in my opinion waste then why not spend an extra 40 odd quid for an A4 piece of paper? Lets face it, may be slow service getting the documents out, but I'm covered from the second my payment is made and hey I saved a small fortune. I've only been asked about insurance once the rest of my clients dont even think about it. However I do always draw their attention to the fact that I have it. And I do everything I possibly can to make sure that I nor anyone else is ever going to make any kind of claim. I don't shoot if its not a safe shot. Tony i havent been asked to produce insurance proof either mate, like you i think its a nice touch to offer people , and it may in some landowners eyes seperate the good lads from the scroats.and get you more permission. I too take no chances when taking a shot , its just that at the end of the day it might prove a godsend , will get in touch with BASA , Cheers Tony Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
My pleasure Ted Olim: No way buddy; My remarks were NOT aimed at you at all They were aimed at the person who initially began to (unwittingly or not) turn this thread into a slanging match That was deffinately not you It does wind me up when people make assumptions, yes BASA were slow in service in MY case and that could be the brokers fault (BASA) or it could have been down to the insurance underwriters. I don't know why it took so long; but I was compensated for the delay in getting my insurance certificate; which given the fact my insurance was valid from the moment my payment was accepted even without my documents (I still had the membership number in the unfortunate event of a claim being made) they didn't really have to compensate me. Bill: Sounds like you got the best of both worlds Phantom Quote Link to post
