Countryside Act 1981

Recommended Posts

Read the act again. "Livestock"

The definition of 'livestock' includes cattle, sheep, goats, swine, horses and poultry. Game birds are not included."

If it was any of the above then yes. No mention of hares? Hare coursing is illegal as we all know, thats a different situation different act. Section 5.9 of The Hunting Act 2004.

REALLY...omg i had not realised!....And there was me thinking it was rocket science

If you read my post AGAIN, i did not mention hares as included as a definition of 'livestock' the hares...... or rabbits, seagulls or pink fookin pixies...anything your heart desires...if it is chased by your dog on land and you are unable to call it off and straight back to heel, your dog is classed as NOT UNDER CONTROL, therefore needs to be leashed.

Oh dear.... I rest my case.

What I dont understand is why you want to be a dick to the bloke when he is telling you in plain English that he has birds down!   f**k me it has been hard enough the past couple of years to keep so

This has probably been mentioned before in the past, however I feel that all members who are not aware of it should have a quick read and maybe photo copy the act and keep on you at all times to produ

well you being a policeman you should know the law, saying that with some of the shit spouted out by you lot thats debatable

:laugh::laugh: Keep trying...........lol

What a nasty man you are. Who do you think you are? You are a show off, who gets his kicks off here thinking you know your stuff and trying to degrade people who actually have great knowledge, understanding, and has done so much for the countryside and fieldsports in the fact. Seems there might be a little jealousy here, no no but you will deny that wont you WILF.

Respect you say, well anyone would have to be silly to respect someone like you. Bet your farmer/keeper doesn't know that you have your small balls flashed oh here! See what respect you get then!

Perfetic attitude, and you seem to miss the whole point of the opening post.

Artic you posted the.... http://www.naturenet.net/law/dogs.html

All i am posting is what it says and now you are saying you dont understand

I am merely defining it a bit so numpties who take what you are saying as 'the law' then get their dogs shot because they did not understand it fully

L&B, you are on about "Livestock" I'm on about "Game Birds" two different things under Defra.

Anyone can worry game birds, however under Defra there is no power as a farmer/keeper to shoot, or order you to leash your dog.

This is purely about not having to leagally leash your dog up espeacially this time of year, however SOME keepers expect you to do so, and believe it's "Law" to do so. Wrong.

This doesn't mean that the first pen you see, you release the dog onto it, thats a seperate isssue and anyone doing that then deserves what they get.

AGAIN, i was not on about game birds, I was on about the law you quoted. Imbeciles will not take into consideration the birds/livestock issue, will just see that you have your dogs off the lead so it must be ok to do so...get my drift now? I could'nt care a jot about the people....it is always the dogs that get it ;)

From your info.....

Dogs may be restricted or banned sometimes, so look out for signs. In any case, you must keep any dogs on a short (less than 2 metres) fixed lead:

•between 1 March and 31 July

•at any other time near livestock

Exactly, "Claims" and also is in the wrong. Gonetoearth, you need to calm down and take 5, it's no good for the blood you know.

Answer with that you say???

It's a perfect polite and accurate answer, to a silly request from a boy who knows only an inch of the countryside act, and that is where the pens are located! This boy seems to believe that all dogs must be leashed up on a public footpath because he states "It's the law" LOLOL.... There are no livestock, it is not law to do so in this situation, and we have a boy here trying preach to others something that he does not know about himself. LOLOLOL.

You sure it wasn't your friend?

ill bet you wear pink cords, it makes no difference if he understands the law or not he asked

you in you own words to leash your dogs , your response should have been to carry out the request

then explain the law then address the situation regarding you dogs high standard of stock training , but

no your that far up your own self righteous arse you chose the big i am route , well Attic you

reap what you sow ,
