Didnt know whether to post it here or on video section. Initially saw this set up on youtube by Snypercatcher. I copied his set up attatching my camcorder to scopes and now have a full dvd of all the best shots. Something different I supose. Notice you on the banks of humber, anywhere near Blacktoft

Nice clear footage

The digicam on nightvision is limited to distance, it is increased by simply attaching infra red filter to lamp obove gun, I can see clearly up to 50yrds in complete darkness, on the viewfinder that is.

Stick some more up then :notworthy:

I'm not that frar from Blacktoft actually only 4 or 5 miles. But from here its a real pain in the ass to get there not having any transport anymore.

I used to ride through Blacktoft on my hog on the way home after a stressful night's work in Goole. And during the summer when not working it was just nice to get out there, take the helmet off and just have a nice slowish cruise on the hog knowing i wouldn't see anyone for miles and miles miles. Soooo peaceful.

You from there originally?

Hi Dillan buddy,

Thats really good clear footage there mate, well done.

Them rats are hard little buggers arnt they? Ive done abit myself this past 5 or 6 weeks and found them to take a good shot to the head pretty well. Only dying after a minute or 2.

I think its just nerves though as they are totally brain dead in many cases.

Can you post the exact model of your camera mate so i can have a look at it.

Im after a good NV model.

Hi Zini

I saw this set up last year on youtube by snypercat, as it happened I had a Sony dcr-sr50 which I used for recording terrier work. I have just read the pinned topic on the set up and didnt realise I was not the only one using this method, however my attachement is different, I use a digiscope adapter, the ones birdwatchers use. It simply screws in the lens end of camcorder and then it slips over scope and is held in place with 3 grubscrews which help centralise the cross hairs in the viewfinder giving more accuracy. I have a tripod set up and attached a pole roller (what fishermen use)With the gun in place about bellybutton height I can walk around the tripod 360 degrees til I spot something. Yes its not easy and does take some getting used to, it can be quite disintoriating and you still look up in pitch blackness to try and guage distance lol but if you know your area you soon get the hang of it, it is fun and its different. Beauty about it is when you get home you can watch it over and over again and show your mates that perfect shot which otherwise would just be a memory. Suffice to say that particular model is outdated and wasnt cheap when I bought it, however I saw one on e-bay for my mate and it went for £75 brand new still in box used once or twice, im sure there will be upgrades which are lighter, hold more memory etc, just make sure it has NV facility on it.

Regards

Trev
