Just a quick word of warning for those of you starting ferreting in this warm weather (and i know a lot will already know this) - i had to do a days ferreting recently to clear out some land and noticed that subsequently one of my jills was absolutely infested with ticks, within the space of a day or so. She must have picked up a ton of eggs as where we were working had recently had sheep on it. Horrible f*****g things! So if you take the stinkers out in the summer watch for ticks.

what are people best methods for getting rid of ticks on ferrets ? on my dog i use the special tick removers

A tick remover will be fine to use on ferrets

When my dog had ticks I covered the ticks in vasolene to starve them of air then after 30-60 seconds they simply let go when you put the tweezers on them.

my vet told me to get frontline for small dogs it'll do

about 3 of them to 1 tube,never had any problems with it
