Marksman 934
i dont know much about guns but im thinking of buying one whats a good choice of gas gun ? by a "gas" gun are you meaning a PCP(pre-charged pneumatic)??? If so then it all depends on what you are going to use it for and your budget. I'm sure people will agree with me when I say set yourself a budget on what you want to spend and get yourself down to your local gun shop and try them out for size/feel etc. Choose a rifle that best suits YOU. Once you've done that then make the decision whether you want to buy new or second hand A good starter pcp is a BSA Ultra which are widely available in new and second hand single and multishot versions. Someone else will be along soon to add "their info" Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Hi Bob W, Welcome to the section pal. Darryl is spot on mate, his advice is 100% bang on the button. Rifle wise there would only ever be one rifle I would suggest now as a rifle for a hunter that wants a brilliant but cheap PCP. One that shoots as accurate as a £1000 rifle and one that won’t let you down. That’s a BSA Ultra. It’s a mint rifle buddy and will fill your game bag easily. I’ve shot one myself quite a lot and seen one shot loads to amazing effects on vermin. I like the single shot version but there are multi shot variants. Price wise: BSA Ultra single shot either .177 or .22 = £319 BSA Ultra multi shot .177 or .22 = £419 BSA Ultra single shot .177 or .22 with tactical stock = £275 BSA Ultra multi shot with tactical stock .177 or .22 = £395 The standard silencer that comes with it is crap though so you will need to fit another one. The Hogan Decimetre or HW silencer is a great choice and will make the Ultra super quiet, but if you want the best then you will need to fit a TWINK mark 2 silencer from A and M Custom Gunsmiths. Link here http://www.amcustomgunsmiths.com/ For an extra £49.99 you can’t go wrong mate and will be amazed with the performance of the silencer. Kind regards Si Quote Link to post
rabbit.slayer.no.1 3
hi there , if we know your budget was then we can help abit more, as everyone has said already the bsa is a nice gun , but if ur really straped for cash then i would tray a coalmans ratcatcher or king ratcatcher they go for around £130 new . then use that till you can save up for a bsa or even a second hand s410 or rapid 7 . i may get stick for saying a rat or king but thats how i started Quote Link to post
bobwood8 1
i dont think im going to get crazy about guns just want something to mess about with for birds and rabbits about 400 or 500 but dont want to rush in and buy a gun to find out there no good but most of you like the ultra so i might give it a try Quote Link to post
garfield 23
with that budget you can buy an ultra and have it tuned/regged this guy does a good deal on bsa's i think ultra is about £280 ish http://www.classicmilitaryarms.co.uk/ Edited August 14, 2010 by garfield Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
if you've got £500 to speand then I would definately suggest a secondhand HW100KT.....cant go wrong with one of them mate, the rifle itself will totally out shoot the shooter Darryl Quote Link to post
