Deerhound x

Hi people im new to this forum and new to working dogs just starting to learn about it, ive decided what dog i want, i want a deerhoundx greyhound , but some people say theyre no good for the smaller quarry, does anyone know of any pups around ?

Most of the people who say they are no good for smaller stuff are people who have never had an example of the breed, Ive had a couple of first crossers over the years, both got the odd rabbit..

thanks guys appreciate your replies, i guess i shouldnt let that put me off about these dogs then eh ill definately be getting one i think the terrain round here where ill be will suit it too. ive heard of dave platt a few times in countryman weekly and lurcher link, does anyone know roughly what id pay for one of his dogs?

I have a 3/4 grey / 1/4 deerhound bitch in pup at the moment and due to deliver next weekend. My bitch is a very, very good allrounder and outstandingly good on heavy quarry. She is in pup to Dave Platts pure deerhound Turpin so the pups will be 5/8 deerhound / 3/8 greyhound. This breeding throws pups very similar to first cross deerhound/grey but usually with a bit more coat, pm me if you want more info. Cheers.

own two first cross dhgh doxhope stuff got a pup out of these.going to be puting my male dog to grehound bitch once a no the pups have got permanant working homes.got 3 just now.dog is 30inch and catches them bolted from holes and had a few on the lamp.great natured dogs the dhghs

When you putting your dog over mate next summer? I'm after brindle bitch broken coated

I have deerhoundx it does well on rabbits for his size 28tts a couple of pics of the last few outings on the rabbits getting his fittness back.

well i think its fair to say im convinced they can catch a rabbit or two now haha good lookin dog , is he half yorkie? jk lol
