Jordb543 9 Posted August 13, 2010 Report Share Posted August 13, 2010 Hi all, as some of you will know i am completely new to hunting and have never been in my life, i keep reptiles, and i hve plans to collect more snakes mainly bigger ones such as boas, blood pythons an burmese pythons, all of which will need feeding, and i know alot of people who feed wild caught rabbits to theirs, so i thought why not hunt them myself, but before i even consider it further id like to know if any of you use ur terriers fo rabbitin and if you do how do you do it? also how many dogs is best and do the dogs kill them or do you? sorry if my questions seem stupid, like i said im new to hunting and no1 in my family goes rabbiting so i dont know anthing about it Thanks Jord Quote Link to post

They can be used to flush rabbits to a lurcher from cover, or to mark occupied warrens when ferreting. (Despite what the digging boys will say.. Waste of a dog, etc.. ) Quote Link to post

Waste of a dog, etc.. ) Yea he is a 7-month old lakeland/plummer cross, to be honest this was just a thought and i wont need any for a while not until a few weeks before i get the snake/s, i might look into getting him to flush them out like you said, im sure he could do that or mark i would be doing it to feed the snakes and for the dog to enjoy, and as the snakes would only be eating a whole rabbit once every 2/3weeks depending on the snakes size, and would just stock up over the rabbiting season ill look into and see if i can find some people local who use lurchers etc and would mind me tagging along or would maybe sell me some rabbits or something, Quote Link to post
