I think a lot of the youngsters are frightened to ask basic questions because they fear being ridiculed and think it may be a stupid question. I have helped loads of genuine youngsters on here........but usually do it quietly through PM. As has been said, we all have had to start somewhere and so i will say to any newcomers out there ask your questions no matter how daft you think it may be and someone will give you the help you need..

we are all still here. dont know about other people but I dont post much because doesnt matter what I say im sure there will be some idiot on here that wil find something abusive to say so i dont bother. I also like to find a lot of things out my self by going out there and learning by mistakes i make, thats the best way to learn i think. Also i learn a lot from a lad on this site, by going out there and seeing it with my own eyes.

if any of the youngsters want any help in should be given , i know it may be wearing when the same questions are asked over and over, but just be a little more tolerent and help them as much as we can.......THEY ARE OUR SPORTS FUTURE !!!!!

Just looking through the young hunters section and i feel really saddened. Why are there no questions asked in here? why are no young hunter wanting help and advice off the members that have all the knowledge? why aren't the members putting good advice and stories up for the young ones? Come on guys and girls lets get this going they are the future . Prize for the best read....... or help you can give....... or sensible question .

 

 

They are in all the other sections - most of them don't like the idea of talking to other kids in the 'childs section' when they could post/read the other sections.

yea youngsters ask away and never mind the clowns who put you down.i dont mind helping any one out.ive sent a few books to the youngsters on ferrets that i dnt read anymore.just glad that their some young ones following the sport

isnt just the youngsters afraid to ask dumb questions, im just about to start my second proper season with lurchers and ferrets and my first serious season with my own terriers. a lot of the time you get shot down very quickly when you ask for advise, although im getting better at asking for it

I get a few PM's from kids and folk starting out in hunting asking silly questions, so I point out that they are the same silly questions I asked when I started Then I tell them to ask as many questions as the want, also, folk on here have to remember that newbies will ask a stupid question to get started on the forum with thier fist post, and generaly its the folk that no nowt, that give the most stick. i think the big problem is the amount of antis coming on this site asking daft questions like whats the best cross for fox,deer etc to get info out of people to use against us :thumbdown: its impossible to know if its a youngster asking the question who genuinely dont no the answer or an anti sniffing around for info. why cant the age of the member be put above location that would be a simple and easy way to sort it

A lot of lads are reluctant to get involved with youngsters on a number of fronts.. Firstly we live now in a throw away society where seemly everything is desposable including dogs, now i know some of the older lurchermen are guilty of this too but how many times have you seen in the Buy an Sell section, a dog been sold because ,"Selling dog because my mates dont go out anymore" its like a fad or a phase they,re going through , and until they can prove that they're here for the long haul , its hard to take some of them seriously, Another point seems to escape people on this site , how i dont know its that some lads just dont want or give a shit about youngsters coming into the game, its COMPETITION, and with the quarry seemly dropping every year, they just dont like it,,its like the f*****g Freemason's on here at times, where you cant get in to this little closed society,,,Look im completly in favour of young people coming into the game, but my standpoint would be from a respect point of view, upmost respect for all quarry,,is first and foremost, not this "DO YOU LET THE DOG KILL THE FOX ITSELF" bullshit , i read in one thread, MODS can rant and rave bout doing this and that , and if your not nice to youngsters, you'll get banned , but there a lot of threads on here ,That paint a very misleading picture to the young about this game also , WHO'S responceability are they,,
