I've not long come back from China. I tell you what, they are among the most hospitable people I have ever met, anywhere. I was staying in what was called a village in the Anhui province, but it was really just a few houses dotted around a hillside. They lived off their land, grew their rice, bred their chucks and kept a few ponds for their carp. They had some hunting dogs which I spent some time with and they ranged from looking like Lancashire Heelers at one end of the spectrum, through to what you'd swear were collie/greys and then up to Spitz types. I was sat out on the yard with the fowl one morning and I asked how the dogs were bred, only to be looked at as though I was from the moon! :11: There was a large (70lb-ish) Spitz type, who had been put over a lurcher type, and the lancashire heeler was the pup  :11:

If anything the dogs were a little underweight, and when I asked why, they replied that a well fed dog doesn't last long on their mountain as the next village over will have them nicked and roasting as soon as you could blink.

Those lads loved their hunting and they loved their food.

For food, rabbits mainly mate. They do all get together and run foxes and these badger-type things but it's like a hunt to the guns.
