Paid 935
I do it for the meat, in order of me and my family, friends, dogs and ferrets. People you take out will oftern sneak back onto your ground, which is why I am always choosy what land I'll share. Quote Link to post
Guest Eamon.Mc
If I am lucky enough to be taken out by someone I would not return to their ground either alone or with anyone else, I think it would be disrespectful and more or less saying feck you mate. Then again I can only speak for myself that's the way I was schooled when I was younger.I only hunt fox and I've never ate one yet!!! Quote Link to post
juckler123 707
With me its sport first meat second and spare cash from the bunnys gets saved for the dogs[petrol, vets fees, jabs etc] third. I learnt long ago its better to go on your own i dont have permission but can go anywhere i want and some places ive been going for over thirty years ive had places ruined by so called mates doing as they liked if you treat a place with respect no one will bother you but the first time something gets nicked or vandalised the locals will soon be down on you another thing ive found is its a lot easier keeping the dogs free of worms fleas and other ailments when you hunt on your own knocking about with other folks always ends up costing extra cash if you can go on your own and when you find somwhere good keep it to yourself that way you will always have somewhere to hunt we all learn by our mistakes all the best Juckler Quote Link to post
Guest JOEB
Anyone who wants to be a bit of a monkey is very soon found out...........word gets round, a wrong un will allways be a wrong un......but hey, you cant odds it. Makes you wonder how much hunting these people get done alone, once the invites dry up?? JOEB Quote Link to post
milo 74
i was in a gun pack for a good few years and was taught from a young age never to go on someone elses places or return to any of the land which we hunt over,When i left this pack of "so called mates"i found out off a few farmers/landowners that some of them men had told certain farmers that i had sent them up and i couldnt make it  [bANNED TEXT] a load of shit, anyway i had hold of one of them and said that [bANNED TEXT] he"d done was not on and vowed to go and kill some of his land off"i know two wroungs dont make a right"but it did hurt me after all those years being told not to do it and they turn around and do it to me . What really hurts me is that one of them is family,in the end i went out and gained even more land so i now have my old land,my new land, the gun packs land and the land of my new mates and every fox i shoot  is left on the fence where the guns stand so take heed if you do it to some of your mates without them knowing then be prepared to have it done to you Quote Link to post

And my best mate with whom I shoot, he has access some land and vice versa, we just share When i'm out with the dogs it nearly always alone Quote Link to post
Guest JDF
for me it's mostly 1 man and his dog but a lot of guys i know treat it like a social gathering! as for going back to ground you've been invited to it's not the done thing but it does happen.being out on your own with a dog is probably the last way to get some peace of mind these days even if ti is only for a while. BLACKBOB 9
Poaching is poaching and anyone on my poaching land will know about it if im there. :11: :11: Did nearly come a cropper last time out tho when i approached some lampers on my poaching land, I wouldnt normaly do this and would steer clear, but i thought it was some lad which i took there one night out for a shine as hes new to it, I only go there on a certain night when theres no moon and have never seen anyone there before, and we are talking years. Anyway i approachd them and it wasnt him, so i asked if they had permission and he replied yes, Mrs. Thomas at so and so farm gave me permission a couple of weeks ago So quick thinking as i can be in these situations i said " oh thats ok mate but she usually tells people im here if you telephone her before you come " The guy appologised and said " Sorry mate i forgot to phone her as it was a last minute decision to come, we,ll go to another place " I said cheers boys have a good night, Cheers bob Quote Link to post
