kingoftoosh 15
YA wee dancer, got my 1st permission today. Its only a small part of farmers land that he wants crows, magpies +rats controlled but its a start and its mine It Came about by me going down a country lane a few weeks ago and seeing that a cow had escaped and was heading for a busier road ,so I went to find the farmer and let him know. Thats how I introduced myself + he remembered .So he said I'd be doing him a favour if I got rid of some corvids for him,he has done me a favour for giving me my first shooting permission.Heading up there early on the weekend to let the S16 see its 1st bit of action. Reading some posts on here recently inspired me so thanks guys . Quote Link to post

kingoftoosh 15
I hope its true what you all say about once you get one permission ,more come along. But the now I will concentrate on getting rid of some crows and maggies from farmers barns.,I've been looking up a bit bout shooting crows and it seems they are smart litlle buckers. Just got a fresh rabbit to keep for saturday as I'm going to try slitting that up the belly and putting it out for the hungry crows as I've read that might help,I also saw it in one of Zini's videos.Lol healso used a bike wheel spoke to stick in a dead crow to use as a decoy, need to get me some o them. Has anyone got any other tips to help me out smart the crows. I'm away to set about the wifes bike with some pliers ,catch you's later. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Use a screwdriver on those spokes, or you will wind up with a few blood blisters Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Has anyone got any other tips to help me out smart the crows. Yeah, build a hide. Corvids (all of em) are smart arses But they can't count for toffee Two of you go to the hide, one returns the other stays and slaughters the crafty critters when they come down for a bit of snaffle Good luck, DON'T forget the camera!!!
