Malt 379
I seldom use one. Had three digs in four years when I have used them, and two of them were to lost collars.. One 4ft through rab, one 4ft through the roots of a holly tree.. Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
I will be using one this season I've been saving up all summer , I can't wait to be honest to see if my ferrets are killing and moving on, stop ends the days bag could be expanded we shall just have to wait and see Quote Link to post
CarraghsGem 92
i dont use a locator as my ground is to sandy to dig, burren would collapse, and some of the burrows are sheer cliff like as it was dug out by a quarry, no point in a locator, harness with 2 bells is what i use, im starting to train the kits to come when called for a piece of cheese, had to wait 3 hours once for a jill holed up, wasnt fun. training my hob to come for cheese now when whistled (i hope cheese is more irresistable than rabbit), hope he catches on soon. atb. gem Quote Link to post

scothunter 12,609
if it lays up and you cant dig to it.block off the holes move on ferret away at other burrows, then on way back go to the burrow blocked off.9 times out of ten when you remove the rock it wont be long in coming to investigate.
