well i went out last night, having phoned the landowner first to ensure that it'd be ok and arranged to meet lisa, his missus at a livery that i shoot on, just on the outskirts of shorham, near a flyover as she was just doing something horsey first so i got over there, and had a quick natter, the upshot of which was take the ol' corgi car(suzuki jlx, i know its a hairdresser 4x4 but it does me just fine so leave off!!) over the field, which is only about 5 acres and smash up the bunnies from a comfy drivers chair.

wicked, i thought, so of i went and parked up about 30m from a bunch of bunnies enjoying the last of the days sunshine. it was a bit gusty, about 10mph but nothing horrendous so i aimed at my first victim and gave himm that favourite of headache cures, an .22 accupell. he went straight over and waved goodbye with his back leg, which was nice, and i assume that because das kraut is soo quite i was able to take another shot at one of his buddies who was a bit nearer and about 10 yds to the right of him so as he was pretty much on my 25yd zero i gave him the cross hair centre and popped him as well, to which he gave a leap of joy, scaring all the remaining bunnies away and convulsed and twitched his way back to the hedge so i jumped out sharpish and made sure he was dead, he was,and went to join his mate in the boot.

a good start, i thought and proceeded in a leisurely manner to the other end of the field, where another solo grass muncher was awaiting me, oblivious to the motor so at 25m i took aim again and when the wind dropped sufficiently i took the shot, and up went number 3, an olymic effort of about one metre up and one back into the middle of a blackberry bush where he remains still as to be honest, he was about half fully grown and i just couldnt be arsed to retrieve him although he was definitely proper dead, just beyond my reach...

no worries, i moseyed up to the other end again and found number 4, a good sized adult with 'pate' written all over her so i got myself snug and dropped her with a clean kill.

a kit appeared just by the side of her and ran around for a bit with a pal but neither stopped long enough for me to take a shot, but after a while another adult was well in range and so i took her as well with another shot, so that was number 5 in the bag,and time for a well deserved ciggy i thought. i then realised as i went to pick up my kills, that i'd left my phone at home so no pictures on site as it were, no worries i thought, i'd do the david bailey bit out back once i was home.

i had a fag, and got back to business, with another bunny falling to darth mauler and about 20 minutes or so later a couple of pigeon getting too close for their own comfort, and just right for mine!! so that was another in the bag, and even better, my first pigeon, bloody great i thought as i went to pick it up...

it was as i was picking up the bird that i noticed the police helecopter circling overhead, and around the field i was in...

hmmmn, that doesnt look too good, i thought, and neither did the two squad cars screetching to a halt, sirens blazing, at the entrance gate to the livery...

so i got out of the car, having first emptied the hw100kt and ensured it was safe, and with both hands up in the air, clearly visible i waved to the 2 coppers walking quickly and slightly agitatedly towards me.

'er, hiya' i said as i approached them, smiling and still keeping my hands visible. after a brief introduction i went to show them my permission note and realised it was with my phone, in the front room at home...

luckily both police officers took my story at face value, and we sorted the mess out with a quick phone call to the missus, and in turn to lisa, the landlord.

now then, the moral of this story is always tell the police first that you are shooting somewhere( it's never been an issue before there in the last 10 yrs), always take your mobile with you, and dont forget your permission slip either!!!

on top of all that, i didnt have a flask either...

anyhow, some photo's of the night's work, with the goriest headshots for you sicko's out there, and some muppet trying to look cool as well

I had it last year, half two in the morning, cruising down a country lane, the dark one poking out the pasenger window at the hedge, at first I thought it was lightning, until I looked in my rear veiw

First of all Wurz Cracking shooting Pal! no prisoners taken there mate......

whatever is this country coming to when things like this happen, Ok with the wake of a couple of disasters in the last few months I can understand the police being on full alert but I have heard this happening now on a good few occasions before these disasters....

I read one story of a lad Decoying in his Permision, he dropped a pigeon and walked from the hide to collect the bird only to hear a shout from the trees near by to drop the gun and lay flat on the floor, the guy said they roughed him up a fait bit kneeing him in the back while he was on the deck and cable tieing his hands, it all sounds hard to beleive but it turned out to be a true story......

you did right holding your hands up Wurz! it only takes one trigger happy armed response cop with a hair trigger and it could have all been over.......

hmmm, now let me think about that one.... :hmm:

think you already know the answer to that un si mate, its gotta be the HW100KT, but not necessarily cos its more accurate, cos i dont think theres much in it between em there, but defo cos of the trigger's sensitivity, the balance, the grip, the weight, and the perfection of the magazine system, and the 2 extra shots and, ahh you get the picture mate. :hunter:

love it, and you were absolutely right about it becoming my 'no1 go to gun' in fact, it hasnt even gone in the gunsafe yet, it gets a wipedown and brief gun oil before going back in the case ready for its next foray out, and its starting to feel like an extension of me now, bloody great gun it is. :signthankspin:

how you doing anyway mate, all good i hope? and L?

all the best, wurz

hi ya wurz

great shooting then matey and great write up and pictures to buddy glad your liking the dark side as much as i am buddy i'm gutted i have work at 6am in the morning or i would be out shooting myself later too and the police can be ok when they know your honest and have good reason to be there but yeah i think it is a good idea that when out shooting just to let the local bobbies know were you are and what your doing as it only takes one phone call to bugger things up not just for yourself but for them as well as they have more important things to be dealing with,

great shooting though wurz and looks like your liking the hw100kt as well.

but we dont blame you for trying to keep the hiredresser car a secret we wont laugh to much :clapper::clapper::D:D:D:diablo::yahoo::yahoo::laugh::laugh::tongue2: :tongue4: :whistling:
