Might of missed something ere but how did the black dog in the open show get reserve after being judged 2nd too the red one in the coloured class by the same judge

The earlier class, Best Coloured Terrier, had only one judge and the Best in Show Class which brought together the Best & Reserve Coloured Terrier and Russells had two judges.

A few years ago at a show we ran in Neilston the guy who got reserve with his russell spat the dummy and handed back the trophy and rosette stating in a loud voice that the Judge was a W**K. The week before the same judge had given the title the other way round ie patterdale reserve russell supreme with the same two terriers. One guy who had been there the week before asked the irate

"sportsman" if that meant the judge was a w**k the week before? The "sportsman" was told he was not welcome at our shows and asked not to return. :boogie:

Many Borders in the final?

There were 5 Borders qualified, but I'm afraid I don't have access to the paperwork at present to say how many actually turned up on the day.

Thanks anyway Barrie. :)

In response to a couple of pm's and E-mails that have been sent to members of NWDA in relation to this post! please don't confuse this incident with any show in the village of Neilston run by "Nielston Working Dog Association"!,

We have never had an incident as described and to date no owner or any working dog enthusiast as ever been made not welcome or asked not to return to any show we organise!

As far as I know the lady known as the events co-ordinater has never organised a terrier show in Neilston either to my knowledge or to the the lads in the NWDA. I have yet to have the comment confirmed by Mr Jock Tait organiser of the Brig o' Lea show also held in Neilston, her father may have while a member of other clubs been involved here but not for a long time? Events co-ordinater and her father have no association or membership with the "Neilston Working Dog Association" and are never likely to!

Hope this cleared the confusion for those who asked? as everyone who attends our show is regarded as a personal guest and treated as such, that's why touch wood there's never been any disquiet or incident

Yours in sport

Tom

Ps: What year was this show?
