staffs riffraff 1,068
get her on a bike at her jogging pace and or get a long pole about 8 feet and about 5 foot of rope ande get a rabbit fur or similar tied on the end it does wonders for dogs fitness as you can make them jump turn really fast in sharp circles helps different muscles when there turning from one way to another trust me 20 min of that a day and 5-6 miles at different speeds on a bike ie jogging for 10 min sprinting for 2-5 depending where your dog is at trust me do it untill end of the month and you will see the difference also just playing with other dogs on top of what your walking her will help atb Quote Link to post
bryson 562
a wish mine were out 10 mile a day they would be machines Quote Link to post

bullmastiff 615
You can't really see from those photo's have you got any of her stood up from a side view? Do you mean fit or looking well? Just because a dog looks 'toned' doesn't mean it's fit and Vice a Versa! A steady walking pace, even fairly long distances won't really get a dog fit, I'm not knocking it, it's nice for the dog and for you to get out in the countryside and will help to tighten ligaments and harden feet. You need to get it next to a bike or behind a car to build real Stamina in the dog, to get it's heart and lungs working properly a steady, fast trot or gallop for sustained periods. To get a dog 'toned', do sprint work, chasing bunnies or even a tennis ball, this is where the really defined muscle's come from. Edited August 9, 2010 by bullmastiff Quote Link to post

lofti 579
try these ones your dog dosnt look fat mate ,looks fine to me:thumbs: . Quote Link to post
pro keeper 111
its my view that 10 miles is to much, the dog would need time for its muscles recover let her off in the morning for a good run around, then 2 to 3 miles on the bike at night quality over quantity,i feed mine greyhound food when working or training, with added vits when needed, good food and the right ground work will see u right,i bet you find that if you follow this plan she will have more energy, hope this helps , ps she looks good all the best mate Quote Link to post
staffs riffraff 1,068
fezz try the pole on your hounds then you will see what i mean does help with the take as well if you try it let us know how you get on mate Quote Link to post
