My 2 youngest Borders.

Recommended Posts

Very tidy Dawn fair play, I've been disappionted with the standered of borders at the shows, they are to big by far and all seem to have the wrong coat.

Thanks Busterdog.

My male could be considered top size, but is easily spannable, the bitch is more "racy" and easily spannable too. They both have good coats, the male is in full coat as you can see, the pic of the bitch was taken some weeks ago, she has a very good coat too, but is easily tidied and hasnt been fully stripped out yet. She is my fist blue and tan, I must say the coat seems easier to maintain.

I've judged a few hunt shows this year where there were more Borders than blacks and can honesly say out of classes with up to ten you could only span one or two. The borders of old had the classic otter type head as does yours and a good double coat that all but lay flat, the ones i've looked at lately have terrible coats (linty) and there heads were poor. As i said Dawn fair play you have a very good standard of border.

There are some poor coats, and heads certainly, decent heads are few and far between. Thanks for your comments.

Thank you. :)

They are stunning. Lovely heads.

Cheers, I do like a decent head on a Border. :)

Hi Dawn,

Have you ever dug to your Borders and is the line used for digging at all?

Not these two, but my older bitch has been dug to, and my first three males were, including the 11yr old I currently have also.

The blue pup is by Lisa Jenkins Dog, Percy, he is a son of Bonsai, both work.
