an fear fiach 0
Hi all, Just a quick question, I recently got a cz452 .17hmr with a sak moderator attached, I was just wandering can I use any .17hmr ammo with the sak mod or is there certain ones for a moderator?? ( like .22lr has subsonic bullets for moderators ) Your comments will be very helpfull, Atb Stephen Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
As long as the mod is proofed for the calibre, then it should be safe to use any round in that calibre through it. The reason most people use subs in moderated .22LR is for the near silent shooting that can be achieved. You will get noise reduction with faster bullets, but anything supersonic will have the sonic boom, which no moderator can remove. The .17 is designed to be a very fast round, so will always suffer from the sonic boom, but a moderator will still give a good decrease in noise levels. Quote Link to post
hw100sniper 2
You can use any of the ammo available with or without the sak on ,if you can get them round your way id advise using 20gr 1's if your out after charlie although the 17gr still do a job ,but the 20's hit just that bit harder. With accuracy there isnt much between all the brands although the Hornady and Federal were just that bit dearer.
