Not the case with my 4x4. It's a three litre diesel, and i'm a sympathetic driver but i still only get around 21mpg.

Same here, only get 26mpg taking it steady in Mazda B Series, 2.5 diesel; get it up to 65 on the motorway and its like theres a hole in the fuel tank

I don't mind 21 to the gallon too much. My last car was an evo that under spirited driving returned around 6mpg. And it would only run on V power fuel.

6mpg..... :hmm: Had a scooby sti myself but never got near 6mpg and i wouldn't say i was light footed with it. I think you had a hole in your fuel tank............. :whistling:

The 6mpg was really down to the mods; pipe, fp green turbo, re map etc. coupled with hooning round Oulton Park on club days, y'know ?

403 BHP with 390lbs of torque. Great fun, but a recipe for bankruptcy once modding fever gets you.

Apologies/ back on topic.

Aye

Got a Pajero 2.8 and manage aroung 25 mpg, no more.

The next motor will probably be an A4 4x4 diesel estate.

(just sold a 340 bhp celica, personal best,,,3 mpg over a full tank and 67 miles, ha ha destroyed a set of tyres on that run as well)
