Ideation 8,216
1000's of acres mate. . . . walked a fair bit of it with the binos and a ferret, just for a walk, and saw lots and lots of signs, but very few rabbits. Ran the jill through a few big sets and didn't bolt a thing. Quote Link to post
scothunter 12,609
its devasting when that happens, kinda wastes your up coming winter if your only limited to one area of permission.i had it bad once a few years back hardly a thing to feed the poleys, had to do a bit of wandering for a while lol Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Aye, i'm lucky i have land in other areas, but this is the stuff that i can walk out my front door to. Funny thing is they were here in very large numbers very recently, and i've seen no sick rabbits . . . . Quote Link to post

Jamie m 668
Yes it's been so dry down here and still is autumn won't need long to get rid of what there is Quote Link to post
CarraghsGem 92
i dont think we dont have it here, touch wood numbers are down though on last year by at least 40% but i attributed that to the rough winter we had here Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Signs of mixy here, always the same this time of the year, normally only knocks off the old and weak bunnies, the young seem to become more immuned to it every year Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
Got a few cases at Weardale at the moment...it's 2 months early this year ...hopefully it'll pass without making a big dent in the numbers... Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Well there are apparently still a few healthy ones . . . . . one of which just this second met it's end to the .410. Funny thing is there are signs of a large rabbit population everywhere and have been, so the mixi has wiped them out extremely quickly and i haven't seen one dead with it or dying. Quote Link to post
Bradford Lad 74
Mixi is bad news, touch wood it doesnt end up near me. No signs of it yet, just hundreds of healthy looking bunnies(still a few very young ones at one permission), one farmer is on at me to start early this year due to the numbers!! Quote Link to post
The one 8,512
Thats why i like my permission scattered about its funny how it can wipe out one farm yet 10,20 minutes up the road the next place is heaving with them , Last autumn we had a few on one permission and hit them hard and now theres a good numbers of healthy rabbits there . I would leaqve what numbers you do have well alone just now theres always the chance they might have a late litter and you might get the odd days ferreting Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
on a couple of our permissions weve got a few mixy ones about but still a few healthy ones about handy for the young dogs but thats about it . . . Quote Link to post
