Guest it's all my land after 12

Hi guys just recently got a terrier and its doing its buisness all over house whats best way or method to stop it doing it :hmm:

use newspaper cover all the floor and let him use that ..... then gradually reduce the paper over days...until you only got couple sheets

inside the back door...put a couple sheets outside too, once he starts using them aswell .... remove the ones inside. also pick up the pup

everytime it wakes and take it outside and put it on the grass ... until it goes ( pee or pooh) then praise it, tell it good boy etc etc

you'll soon crack it.... all the best IAMLA12.

you need to take the pup to garden every hour and stey with him so you can tell him good boy when he peeps in garden. your puppy will need to go at these times- just after waking up, just after food, after playing for 20 mins. if hes not been for an hour. if you get him out at these times and onec an hour he will very soon see the garden as the pee pot and not the house. you need to be on your toes with a little pup. but the hard work pays off. if he peeps in the house but you dont see him do it, then just ignore it. and clean it up without telling pup off. if you see him doing it, then a quick dash to garden with pup is whats needed. i even had my pup sleep with me so i could take her out to garden in the night when she woke up. was hard work but after two weeks she was clean.

I would say exactly the same thing as above mate,

i always used to put a lead on all mine then take them round the garden, that way im right next to them so when they did there business i can give them loads of praise, also helps them gt used to their lead as i was going out every hour,

it has worked for every dog ive ever had :victory:

I've raised dozens of puppies and found that positive reinforcement is the best way to train the dog.  When these little terriers are so small it is our duty to take them outside frequently. Be sure to praise and treat the pup when he goes outside. I use the term "Hurry up" and he knows exactly what I'm saying when we go outside. He pretty much pisses on command now. You can't just ignore a puppy. Yelling or swatting at the dog just makes the dog want to hide before it will go the bathroom. They don't understand they are getting in trouble for going the bathroom, just think it is because they went in front of you. Crate training also helps immensely because dogs won't soil their sleeping quarters. Little dogs take awhile longer than big ones because they just can't hold it as long. It has been a steady fight but my Pat at 6.5 months is going outside or on the linoleum right in front of the back door which means I didn't give him the opportunity to go outside. Keep with it and don't get mad at the pup. You will just break his confidence in your as a leader if you yell or sway him. Confidence is a must for any working dog so you don't want to break em.

Regards,
