falcongit 242
I went out last week and the last bunny of the day (no. 5) keeled over, back legs waveing good night. I picked it up, checked the shot which was a perfect just below the ear and behind the eye. Easy 20 yard shot, pellet passing through... Took him and his mates back to the car, made the hours drive back home, opened the boot of the car and I could see it breathing about an hour and a half after being shot. I mean proper chest going up and down!! I picked it up and it was still warm and limp, riggo had set into the others. It was deffo brain dead as most of them were hanging out of it's head. Never had anything quite like that before. Cheers. sounds like you had a good bag that day mate, cheers bud sym Quote Link to post
falcongit 242
Nice read Sym, If you'd have hit it in the eye, you'd have seen it, its not pretty You all know my worst shot at the bunny at Roos, so I won't go into it again as I'm trying to get sh!t faced due to bad news (well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it, I should be on my record bag shoot right now! F K ) My guess Sym is you clipped it on the skull, litterally by a thou' of a mm, hence enough energy xfere to knock it unconsious but not enough to keep it that way for long. Every one has the odd flyer or episode like this, John has gotten into the habit that I got into after I had the experiance at Roos. Although I don't do it now if I hear the perfect crack of lead on skull, you'll get to know the differing sounds of the pellet strike, on the different parts of the skeleton. The worst one for me (unless going for a spinal shot) is a dull thud as I know its gone through the chest (wich lucky for me is a very rare occurance now) as it usually means the bunny will run, not too far usually, but Linford got to a point where I couldn't reach him I could see he was dead, but I couldn't retrieve him that night and in the morning there was no trace of him, but there was a trace of Mrs V. ixon. That was a fluffed shot and cost me a black fluff SPA for being honest and the good read Phantom thanks for the sp mate....my write ups are not quite as good as yours phantom but getting there..... sym Quote Link to post
