all.rounder 3 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Share Posted August 6, 2010 well lads me and 2 mates done a all nighter on Tuesday night and didn't even get a bite we had six rods out between us.is any one getting any pike.in or around the border of ireland/northern ireland.i no its not the best time of year for them.but ffs not even a jack. all.rounder 3 Posted August 8, 2010 Author Report Share Posted August 8, 2010 best thing 2 do for summer pike is troll if u hav a boat..we caught 75 pike on a big lough in cavan..last july with 2 16ft fibreglass boats..all catch and release mostly under 10pounds..got burnt 2 fcuk aswell yes mate we have a 17ft shellen.but my mate only takes it out the odd time.mostly in the winter hes into the bream and Roch this time of year it dose my head in fishing for them so i put the pike rods out. Meroman 105 Posted August 18, 2010 Report Share Posted August 18, 2010 I've fished the River Suck above Ballinasloe, the Inny and a few lakes in Co. Cavan from the bank this summer and drew a blank every time using various baits and lures but hit the Jackpot trolling perch on Derravaragh Lake. We took the boat up the Inny and landed a few Jacks and then down the Inny to lough Iron which was choked with weed growth but yielded a 15 pounder to my mate. Quote Link to post
