lurchergrrl 1,441
did you see the fella selling staffy pup for dogs £250bitches £300 when asked if checked if the people were right people for a pup he said if the can afford the asking price there the right people as been said shame to see healthy dogs being pts A lot of people have that mentality. They reckon if someone wants to pay the money they're good enough but that's so often not true! Folks say it on here all the time as well - don't give it away free, people who pay are more serious. But they aren't always, they're just happy to part with their money. To be honest the program wasn't hard hitting enough. They were very namby pamby about things and I think they should've shown the sheer number of dead, 'clinical waste' dogs being disposed of to really bring home to people just how bad the situation is. Folks drop their dog off in a dogs home and think it'll always end up ok,they can tell themselves that it'll get a good home and they forget in an instant about the animal they've just got rid of because they can't be bothered with it any more. They don't have to see that so often they are put down simply because there are too many of them waiting for homes. If a dog has slight issues, or minor aggression that could probably be worked with, where are they going to find the time and resources to do that when they've got so many other dogs to worry about that will rehome quicker? It's harsh, but it's just the way it is. At the end of they day the supply far, far outreaches the demand. The VAST majority of dog owners should NOT be breeding their dogs and selling them willy nilly with no thought of the next 10 to 15 years of that animal's life, if it manages to live that long. Sad state of affairs.
