i have bein gettin on to me father now for as long as i can remember to get a new finder instead off the bells. he just starts laughin sayin i have my finder and just points at his ears. now infairness to him it dont take him long to find the ferret at a stop end or wat ever.so anyway was just wondering are people still using bells or have them days gone??

What if the ferret isn't moving or is something like 5 meters down???? Can he hear the bells then?

I wait till Xmas then all my ferrets wear bells and the dogs where elf and reindeer outfits compulsory , it comes down to old v new I supose on a slighty more seriouse note

A mate of mine uses one on the locator collar. You'd be surprised, but by f**k it's handy when you're ferreting in the thicker stuff!

I reckon they would be fine in cover or gorse etc but how would you find your ferret when a mk3 goes off the scale ????

I put bells on my pursenets when ferreting at night, makes it easier to know whats come out of a hole, a big bell rattle for a rabbit or a tinkle for the ferrret.

same here allways have 2 bells on the locater collar for when they come out there handy when u work a couple of ferrets at one time u cant be every where at once and they let u no when 1 has come ouy

used to use bells when ferreting on a moon light night , but not done that in years , never here of anyone useing them anymore

i use them for working cover... very handy if ur ferret starts making its way through a hedge or what ever.

ye its handy in rough cover alright. think i might just buy a locator for him he might see the light then ha. where the best place to buy one?

Look on ebay i just brought a 2 mk1 boxes and a collar for £37 but there faulty my dad should be able to fix them-touch wood.

Ive used a collar with bells before but i think it clogged with mud alot.
