cúagusgiorraí 57
standard size Teckel is small enough as it is mate. Even then sometimes my fella struggles to get up ditches and over walls when hunting. Quote Link to post

cúagusgiorraí 57
well poacher! they certainly arent a poacher's dog! They are very vocal and any bit of interesting scent makes them open up and get excited. I personally would not use them as a ferreters dog. I prefer a quieter thinking type dog for that, not a loud, excitable Teckel. They make excellent bushing dogs for rabbits, foxes and birds in cover. My 7 month old pup was hunting all day last February, and was well able for it. I have trouble now that he is older to keep his energy contained. He has this bottomless resource of stamina for such a small dog. Getting him fit now, I can excercise him for 30 minutes straight with a flirtpole and he hardly even pants or shows signs of exhaustion. He is always giving 110%. My dog is 9 1/2 inches to the shoulder. He can go wherever a fox or hare can go. If you are going to hunt with one of these, make sure you have permission to hunt, because the farmer will soon know, by all the noise the dog makes!
