t5avs1 2
does anybody use one of these at this power and what pellets and scope do you have, think mine might have lost some power somehow or im gettin a rubbish shot is the 177 more accurate, cheers Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Hi there and welcome to the forum Many people use the S410 in .22 with warious scopes. Pellets can be a 'personal choice' as one barrel may like a particular type, another barrel from the same batch may prefere anothe type altogether. I think the most commonly used pellets mentioned in this forum are Air Arms Fields and the FX (my baby loves them both). The .177 is no less accurate than the .22 version, the difference is that the .177 version must fly faster to make up for the lack of muzzle energy (its a purely a math/physics thing and needn't concern anyone) thus the pellet flies in a flatter trajectory than its slower .22 sister. Once your scope is zeroed and you know your POA, then your pellet will fly true and hit the matk What pressure are you filling the gun up to? Phantom Quote Link to post
t5avs1 2
thanks for that i can only fill it upto what the diving bottle fills it upto which is 200 or just shy of it i am no good at judging distance anymore so was thinking about gettin a rangefinding scope like the bushnell yardage pro or similar which tells you your yardage as you aim,, i use the air arms field pellets they are not bad i think but may try another to to be sure, cheers tom Quote Link to post

My cylinder says 200 Bar as well but my sweet spot (the pressure where the shots reach the highest velocity and shot to shot consistancy) is 175 bar down to 100, this gives me 40 or so shots at max power that are more or less pellet on pellet. If I fill the cylinder to more than 180 bar, the shots go all over the place as the cylinder pressure makes the valve shut faster therefore there is less air gets through to propel the pellet. jackinbox99 41
As the others have said, you shouldnt be having any problems with accuracy with that setup. Ive got the same gun, same calibre and same power. Using the AA Field Diablo pellets in 5.52 mine is spot on every time at 45yards. Try filling to about 170 and see how you get on after a good zero`ing session. Might be the scope is a bit off. I occasionally find mine gets knocked or moves sometimes and thats the only thing which affects my accuracy. A range finder is an excellent idea. I bought a Hawke 600 range finder a few months back and am staggered at how accurate it is. Certainly takes the guesswork out of using the .22! Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
As the guys say, if you overfill the rifle, you will actually show a decrease in power and accuracy. Only ever fill it to the max pressure, and normally the sweet spot where max power, accuracy and consistency can be found is a way lower than that! Quote Link to post
