markha 99
I havent tried H&NFTT on the range, my hw80 loved them as well as the Premier Ultras. Just put 3 H&NFTT through the chrono - 9.5ftlbs and 8.9ftlbs for the Premier Ultras, so well down on power compared to AA diablos in 5.52, Also they felt very clunky when pushing the bolt home. Im going up the ranges tomorrow and will definately get a tin of AA 5.51 to try out. Chrono I use is Combro cb 625. Cheers Mark Quote Link to post

wrowmon 1
hi did you sort this..if not just a few ideas.. has the barrel leaded up i know most say this will not happen with an air rifle but with new guns it can... was the distance between barrel and chorno the same as first test..silly but will make a difference. did you really use washing up liquid..if so was it all washed off as this stuff will help rust get a hold if left as a residue in the barrel.. markha 99
Yes I realy did use a very small drop of washing up liquid, then well rinsed and dryed bone dry with hairdryer, then the lightest of coatings with wd40, I have a mate who shoots field target and this is what they do to get better consistency. I have now cleaned the barrel and treated with a light coating of 3-in-1 oil as recommended by AirArms. Groupings have tightened up and all is good, I was at the range yesterday and had 1 1/4" groupings at 85yds with variable wind. So all is good and solid at 11.5ftlbs again. Mark Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hiya Mark. Glad youve sorted it mate. Cant beat a clean barrel, pull mine through after every 1000 pellet's. although a lot of shooters hate doing it, I think its a case of what suits the rifle barrel, and your peace of mind If your target shooting at that distance, it may pay you to start weighing your pellet's. Im putting RWS Superdomes through my HW100 at the moment, and the variation in the pellet weights is hellish. Supposed to be 0.94g ( 14.5gr ) on weighing mine, I have found they range between 92g and 98g. So I now weigh them and batch them up.......well......its somthing to do when its blowing a hooligan , and may well tighten your already nice groups. Bill. Quote Link to post

markha 99
Hi Sweeny, I know what you mean about pellet weights, in chairgun I used to use 16gr as the average for the AA diablo fields, but once the guns on the chrono its apparent that the average is more like the stated weight, 16.3gr. I did also try some Daystate in 5.5, they did group closer than the AA 5.51(which my gun likes better than the 5.52)out to 30yds, after that they realy opened up with 2-3" groups and some flyers at 50yds. So at the moment Im all settled on AA diablos in 5.51 and I have to say Im really getting in to long range paper shooting I have another confession... the shotgun licence application when in the post today, along with my girlfriends, she spent last weekend bashin clays and enjoyed it so much she had the forms photos and everything ready to post on Monday evening! I though it would be rude not to join her and help her progress (nudge her towards FAC at a later date) and also be able to account for spending more money on guns myself hahahaha, big result Quote Link to post

Bloody scary mate, when I moved in with her I brought my bergen packed full of old photos and kit etc and stuffed it in a cupboard. I came home one day and she had black stuff all over her face...yep, charcoal, she had dressed up in my dpm's and also opened an nbc suit and put that on with an avon gas mask, she was fully kitted up and had put everyhting on, kevlar helmet and body armour, gas mask, tactical webbing, she had been through all my photos and had also rummaged out some more, erm 'gucci' items that i didnt want her to find, basically shiny kit I nicked from some us spec ops boys when in Hertzi, well they didnt want to swap kit with us so we did what we do best, snook in and 'borrowed it'. So I know for a fact that she will be after ladies cut, stalking clothing etc as well as gun related things, Im set for presents for a long while now. Just got to wait the 56 days that NWP say it takes for the licence to go through. Quote Link to post
